Aquasol Solar realizes ‘EOS’ at Hot Pepper King (Oxin Growers)
Mega‑battery strengthens energy position alongside solar power
Floating solar parks on water basins and other dual‑use areas such as rooftops and embankments have become an integral part of modern energy solutions. Yet in today’s market, generation alone is no longer optimally profitable. On behalf of Oxin Growers, Aquasol Solar installed a Sigenergy Energy Storage System (EOS) today at Hot Pepper King in Nootdorp. With this system, this South Holland grower can operate in an optimally sustainable way by combining energy generation and flexible use.
Hot Pepper King’s Joost van Luijk responds with enthusiasm: “With this system, we can use our own energy whenever and however we want. Aquasol Solar more than delivers on their simple equation. From now on, we actively join the formula: Generate + Store = Flexible Use.”
Willem Verwoerd is equally enthusiastic: “With the installation of this EOS, we are expanding our service offering into a full integrated solution, enabling growers to take control of their own energy. Today’s energy market requires self‑regulating energy systems that strengthen the competitive position of horticultural entrepreneurs. This modular battery system can be customized and scaled to match needs and consumption, from 216 kWh up to 20 MWh of storage capacity.”
Together with chain partners, including the manufacturer and the insurer, various scenarios were developed into a feasibility study. Combined with the ‘Seven Safeguards’ before, during and after installation, this results in a distinctive proposition within the greenhouse horticulture sector.
