Solar panels on water basin
Solar panels on water basin. Your basin as an energy source. Let the sun work!
Reuse the space that your basin takes up; create a floating solar park. This gives water a dual function. With a new revenue model as a result, which is always positive (ROI 10-20%). The solar panels float as a flexible but sturdy unit on the water. Extensively tested in the most severe weather conditions, with a 15-year warranty.
More advantages? Less water evaporation, no algae growth and above all less use of scarce space

Benefits of solar panels on your basin
There are many advantages to installing solar panels on a water basin. The most important advantage is that you generate your own energy within your company without having to sacrifice space for it. You have already paid for the costs of this space when you installed your water basin. And self-generated energy makes your company less dependent on the whims of the market and government policy.
Floating solar panels are considerably more efficient in generation when it is warmer. This can sometimes make a difference of 10%. This is due to the cooling effect of the water. An additional advantage of sun on water. Floating solar panels also have advantages on the water side. Much less water evaporates from your basin, there are no more algae in your basin water and the water temperature in the summer is much lower. Better for the roots of your plants.
The last advantage we would like to mention is that we place a new slope cloth on your basin. This way, your basin will be in good condition for many years to come.
Reviews from our clients
As Dutch Berries, in addition to growing delicious strawberries all year round together with Veiling Zaltbommel, we have chosen to make our company more sustainable by using floating solar panels from Aquasol Solar. The floating system is innovative, very stable and leads to a high yield. It is also well organised in the area of monitoring with continued support. With the knowledge of new developments such a battery storage, they are good partners. These guys from Aquasol know what they're talking about.

The dual function and at the same time keeping up with the times and sustainable yet cheap energy made us decide to install floating solar panels on our irrigation water basin. It's great that we didn't have to worry about anything with Aquasol Solar, you can tell that they come from horticulture themselves.

Frequently asked questions about solar panels on water
- To which standards does the electrical installation of Aquasol Solar comply?
- Is my installation suitable for feeding energy back into the grid?
- Do any materials from the installation leak into irrigation or surface water?
-
Why is choosing a Tier ONE panel manufacturer important?
Tier 1 solar panel brands must meet the following criteria:
-
Vertically integrated production
-
Significant investment in R&D
-
Fully automated production with maintained quality
-
At least five years of solar panel manufacturing experience
These criteria, established by Bloomberg New Energy Finance, address the financial reliability of solar panel manufacturers.
-
- What is the strength of the system’s internal connections (e.g., uneven floater load or wind suction)?
- What are the benefits of bifacial solar panels?
-
What are microcracks?
Microcracks are small fractures in solar cells caused by mechanical stress. They degrade panel performance. The Aquasol Solar system minimizes this risk due to:
-
Installation on a stable platform
-
Each panel having its own floater
-
Independent panel positioning
-
Use of All Back Sheet panel designs that reduce microcrack formation
-

Are the installation materials recyclable?
Our floaters, made from high-grade HDPE, are recyclable. Glass-glass panels are 95% recyclable through specialized facilities like PV Cycle.
Aquasol Solar is registered with the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) system and contributes a recycling fee for each panel. This ensures free collection and recycling of panels when needed.
Participation in WEEE is also a prerequisite for green financing and may offer fiscal advantages. Consult your accountant or tax advisor. - Have wind suction and ballast been considered, similar to flat-roof installations?
- Is my installation storm-proof and insurable?
- Why does Aquasol Solar provide a property tax (WOZ) advantage?
